Summary
Adventure puzzle games were made for events like this. The Mysterious Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde is a retelling of Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1886 classic. Set in 19th Century London, a wealthy politician is murdered on the streets of Soho. You assume the role of the inspector attempting to solve the mystery of this so-called hideous figure roaming the alleyways.
And with that, you’re presented with a collection of hidden object puzzle screens to solve with your clue-finding detective skills. There are 30 different areas to investigate as well as 30 mini-games to overcome on top of your item-hunting. In between scenes, you may find yourself reconstructing a ripped up letter or mixing a potion from a coded message to progress the storyline. With around 200 tasks to complete in total, you have your work truly cut out for you if you’re wanting to unlock the secrets of the murder.
What sets this game apart from other hidden object games is the heavy intertwining of the novel’s storyline. Each scene will be accompanied by a continuation of the terrifying tale, with the addition of a foreboding atmosphere that will keep you on edge as you unravel the mystery.
