Summary

Remember the much-loved Disney cartoon The Sorcerer’s Apprentice? Fast-forward several decades, and we're now at the point where we can enjoy a live-action version of the story, starring Nicholas Cage. And to coincide with the big-screen film, fans can treat themselves to a 3D action adventure game on their Nintendo DS.

Players assume the role of Dave, the powerful sorcerer’s apprentice, who gets caught up in a magical battle against the ultimate forces of mystical evil. An ancient prison, the Grimhold, contains some of the most wicked and evil sorcerers in the land, but now they have broken free and taken over New York City.

Balthazar can put an end to all this nonsense and send the evildoers back from whence they came – the only problem is, the legendary master sorcerer is trapped in the magical realm. All on his own, Dave must take on his magical duties and save the city from total meltdown.

Luckily, despite total banishment, Balthazar can still give Dave hints and tips as he travels between New York and the magical realm. Handy. As you learn new spells and techniques, you will be able to overcome the six evil sorcerers and free Manhattan.

As well as a challenging single player mode, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice also has competitive play with one Nintendo DS console, using 'Pass the DS' mission modes for up to four players. 30 achievements are waiting to be unlocked, and the game comes complete with DGamer, Disney's online game community.
