Summary

There are plenty of naval combat games on the PC, but Naval Assault: The Killing Tide is the first time we've seen the genre hit this generation of consoles. Command your own World War II submarine through various battles in the North Atlantic ocean and secure a victory for the Allied Forces.

The campaign begins at the New York harbour, where you will be expected to undertake some challenging missions at sea to fend off assaults from the Axis threat. Such attacks will take place both above and below the water's surface, so you need to keep your wits about you if you want your fleet to survive. Man the guns when enemy planes zip overhead and try to sink you, and navigate past some deadly underwater mines when exploring unsafe territory.

A huge dose of stealth and cunning is needed to tackle each of the 30 campaign missions that await you. Use your sonar to identify enemy ship types and attack range, and plan detailed battle tactics on the spot to slip by those you want to avoid and flank those you want taken down.

With a combination of arcade gameplay and historical settings, Naval Assault: The Killing Tide presents something in the submarine battle genre that suits the pick-up-and-play nature of consoles while maintaining the spirit of the Second World War.
