Summary

Nippon Ichi sure loves its demon anima RPGs, doesn't it? That's not to say that's a bad thing – the alternative angle provided in these games offer a large variety of comedy along with some interesting gameplay to boot. Trinity Universe follows in the same vein as titles such as Disgaea – the exploding demon penguins, Prinnies, even feature here.

This game, however, focuses on the fate of the Netheruniverse and the tale of a Demon God named Kanata. It is the role of the Demon Gods to protect their world by transmogrifying into a Demon God Gem. But being the punk rebel he is, Kanata would rather have a crystalised-free existence, and so becomes the Demon Dog King instead.

Now is the time of reckoning. Space debris is about to slam into Kanata's world and bring complete devastation. Naturally, the Demon Dog King doesn't want to turn into a gem, so he realises – if he manages to go to the source of the debris and solve the inevitable problem, then he would have saved the world without crystalisation. And so begins a rather ambitious journey.

Unlike other anime-inspired titles from the same company, Trinity Universe delves into 3D graphics, with battles taking place in large arenas. Multiple characters can be controlled to deal damage to the enemies that lurk behind the tragedy about to strike.
