Summary
Eve Online is a massively multiplayer game, set in a vast galaxy, tens of thousands of years into the future. With tens of thousands of subscribers all over Planet Earth (and maybe beyond...who really knows?) there are lots of people to meet. Originally released in 2003, the game reappears in 2009 as a Special Edition; in fact, this is the first time it has been available as a boxed item, having been an online exclusive since 2003, along with its expansion packs. This time however, all the previously available add-ons, along with the original MMORPG, plus the latest expansion, Apocrypha, and 60 days play among other extras, are included in the Eve Online Special Edition.
With around 250,000 players in one universe (on one server!) Eve Online enables players to build their own story, that a rookie pilot of a basic starship in a huge new world, through to the day when you fight the big battles for your own corporation, in a fight against the tyranny of supposedly more powerful factions.
Whatever profession you choose for your character - commodities trader, mercenary, industrial entrepreneur, pirate or mining engineer, or indeed any combination of these and more, there is no level cap, and no limit to your skills. Strategy and tactics - and great big spaceships - are what Eve Online is all about. Go get immersed in another world.
