The original Gothic 3 offers players a massive free-roaming world to explore, with virtually no boundaries. The game is story-driven with goals that are dictated by decisions the player makes, thus every game is different. There are also countless side-quests for players to get their teeth into that should keep even the most jaded RPG fans interested.
If you're jaded already (you're a demanding type, aren't you?) then publisher JoWood has just the thing to tickle your fancy once more in the shape of the Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods expansion pack. This add-on includes new quests and monsters, and many old friends recognisable from previous episodes. Forsaken Gods answers all questions which came about in past Gothic games, and gradually reveals a whole new chapter.
With an improved combat system and new combat rules powered by an improved game engine, developer Piranha Bytes delivers worthy goods. There are between 15-20 hours of extra action in Forsaken Gods, the gloomy atmosphere (not a criticism - this is Gothic, after all) and the man with no name returning with not so much a bang as a spooky wind, eerily whistling around your monitor, as you go a-roaming and a-role-playing once again. Lights out for more Gothic!
