Summary

What is good in life? Giant robot suits! Never was a truer word written. There are few things that light up gamers' eyes like clambering into a walking tank and blowing stuff up. What Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 does, however, is follow in the giant metal footsteps of its predecessor and throw the tactical action of the Warriors series into the big crazy mix.

In a nutshell, players have to plan their approach over the battlefields of the future (the battlefields of the future will be in space, if you didn't know) as they duke it out against hordes of enemy mobile suits.

The literal biggest change in the sequel is the introduction of huge great enemies like the Psycho Gundam. These nasties can swiftly reconfigure themselves into surprisingly nippy mobile fortresses of gargantuan scale. Fear not, however! If you're sharp enough, you'll be able to take these hulking menaces down using the firepower at your disposal.

Another feature set to excite Gundam fans is the inclusion of suits from the likes of Char's Counterattack, Victory Gundam and Gundam SEED Destiny, taking the number of playable mechs up to an impressive 62 - more than three times the number in the original.

The number of missions available has been similarly bulked up. Like the first game, there's an original mode and a mission mode. Where the first game offered five or six missions for each of the 22 characters, however, the sequel offers nearly 100 missions per character! If you're looking for quality and quantity, you'll find it right here.
