Summary

Since we Brits are apparently destined to never get a summer again, we're going to have to start getting our sun fixes where we can. You don't need to be a geographer to know that it doesn't get much hotter or sunnier than Africa, so Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa looks like a good place to start.

The game follows its film namesake, which sees Alex the lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo and their whole crazy crew crash landing in Africa and becoming entangled in a whole great mess of political intrigue and shenanigans.

Gamers can play as their favourite characters. Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria each have their own sections of the game which they have to platform through in 3D style. Since each character has their own special abilities and combat moves, such as Marty's ability to double jump and Melman's ability to hover in the air, each level has its own unique twists to make use of them.

There's also a special side-scrolling mode in which players can take control of those crafty, crazy penguins!

As well as the traditional platforming stuff, there's a host of mini-games - such as a pinball challenge and a memory test - to keep things interesting.

So, why not stay in and get some sun?
