Summary

Tired of playing endless imported anime games? Maybe you're sick of the same old arcade boxing games? Did you ever think it might be a good idea to combine the two? If not, we completely understand. It's not the most natural combination to come up with. But... that's what Grand Prix Inc. has put out into the world with Victorious Boxers Challenge. Slip on your gloves. It's time to get involved.

Taking its lead from the anime Fighting Spirit, the game follows the highs and lows of a young boxer going by the name of Ippo Makunouchi as he battles to win the heavyweight boxing title for Kamogawa Gym. Ippo has been plagued by bullying all his life, so it's time for him to man up and show the world what he's capable of.

The Wii's been crying out for more boxing games ever since Wii owners got a brief taste of what life in the ring could be like with Wii Sports boxing. Not wanting to disappoint, Grand Prix Inc has made full use of the Wii control system's motion sensitive functionality. Players can control Ippo (or any of the other 24 boxers available) by throwing punches using the Wii Remote or Nunchuck to jab, hook and uppercut their way to victory.

Also included is a DS-style 'pointer mode' and support for the classic controller and GameCube pad.

Eye of the Tiger and all that...
