Summary

Ubisoft's latest entry into the the Might and Magic franchise takes the success of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and runs with it, throwing in a few new, er, elements, as it goes. Gamers must prepare for ferocious combat as they get neck-deep in a dark and expansive fantasy environment.

In Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements, players will be introduced to the world of Ashan, the new setting for all future Might and Magic games. The world of Ashan is a dangerous place, with a bloody history, and to make matters worse, it's now threatened by an apocalyptic prophecy, known as the Dark Messiah. Ashan is full of gabby goblins, 'orrible orcs, zesty' zombies, tumultuous trolls, dreadful dragons and many other strange creatures.

Gamers assume the role of Sareth, a young hero who has been trained in the arts of magic and war, so he can go mix it up with the Dark Messiah. Players will be dragged back to face the terror that was facing your careers advisor. Do you become an assassin? An expert warrior? A fancy-pants mage? A middle manager? Each of these are equipped with their own cache of powerful weaponry and spells that will be used to battle huge monsters (except for the middle managers, we made them up). Gamers are able to unlock various new skills and equipment through combat. This will advance Sareth's experience and improve his battle combos, hits, spells, techniques, performance, and ultimately his destiny.

The game uses cutting edge technology, featuring an enhanced version of the powerful Source Engine from Valve, which includes lovingly-rendered environments and amazing special effects. The game has a first-person perspective with realistic movements, body awareness and physics rendering.

The control system has been modified for the console, with a lock-on feature making its first appearance and tweaked level design and stats.

There are 12 levels for gamers to get their long, pointy, under-brushed teeth into, and over 40 weapons and dozens of devastating spells to master. You must engage the enemy in intense melee combat with staffs, swords, bows and daggers. The game is action-packed and should keep even the most jaded gamer amused.

The 360 version has brand spanking new multiplayer maps that didn't feature in the original PC version, while the whole online experience has been 'remixed' for optimal performance on Xbox Live.
