Yu-Gi-Oh means 'Game King' or 'King of Games', and it's a popular Japanese anime and manga franchise from Kazuki Takahashi that mainly revolves around characters who play a card game called Duel Monsters (originally known as Magic & Wizards) where each player purchases and assembles a deck of Monster, Magic and Trap Cards in order to defeat one another. Think Pokemon, but with bells!

The game is based on the animated series which is screened on the Cartoon Network and the story takes place in the same world as Yu-Gi-Oh! but several years later. Gamers assume the role of Jaden Yuki, a talented duellist who is given the card 'Winged Kuriboh' by Yugi before his admission into Duel Academy, an elitist boarding school established by Seto Kaiba. Due to Jaden receiving poor marks in his admission tests, he is placed in the Slifer Red dormitory, which is reserved for students with the lowest grades. As Jaden, you will face various challenges from the other students in Duel Academy and there are also many hidden secrets concerning the academy to be uncovered.

The main principle of the game is to reach the top of the Duel Academy ranks, ultimately becoming the King of Games. Konami's latest offering in the series introduces gamers to a whole new cast of characters and monsters. With new cards and intense duelling action, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy is a must for any fan of the franchise. Gamers can perfect their duelling skills using the in-game tutorials and periodic quizzes. Also adding to the overall quality of the game is a personal digital assistant (PDA) inside the gameplay. Gamers can use the PDA to keep track of their scores, important events and communicate with other characters. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy also comes with three limited edition Yu-Gi-Oh! cards: Elemental Hero Necroshade, Hero Wing, and Winged Kuriboh.
