Summary

Saint Seiya is a popular manga and anime series that stars five warriors fighting evil, and is a cult classic within Japanophile circles. DIMPS brought many fans dreams to life when they developed Saint Seiya, Knights of the Zodiac – The Sanctuary on PS2, a fighting game focusing on the first adventure of the five ‘Saints’. Now Seiyanites can rejoice again as Saint Seiya: The Hades seeks to bring more fighting and action to save the world once again.

This sequel’s setting is verbatim of that of the original manga series, staying true to the text as players can experience a wholly interactive version of the Hades saga. From the Sanctuary to the Inferno chapters, players will need to control the Saints as they fight all of Hades’ evil forces (aka the ‘Specters’). 49 playable characters are available, making it possible to fight as or against a vast range of the characters in the manga, and the production of cinematics and sound will come straight from the producers of the original anime series – with the cut-scenes directed by series creator Motoharu Katsumata.

Improvements and enhancements to the fighting system include a wider variety of attacks, including air moves and long range attacks and counters. The control system has been revamped to provide an easier and more enjoyable play, and battles are fine-tuned to create tense and unique bouts – one right or wrong move in play can greatly affect the course of your fight and can even determine the winner. The Cosmo system has also been refined, making for better special moves and intense combos.

Saint Seiya: The Hades is set for a European launch ahead of its native Japanese release, ensuring the product is perfect for the Western fans and catering to the large European anime fanbase. For ardent followers of the manga, you just can’t ask for a more faithful game.
