Summary

Several thousand years have passed since the demon warrior Sparda raised his sword against the unholy world to save humanity. In victory, he believed his job had been done, so he relinquished his demon warrior status and joined mankind. Eventually, Sparda fathered Dante, a half-human, half-demon son with supernatural powers. However, Dante wasn't the only son Sparda had fathered: there was also Vergil, Dante's twin brother. As devoted as Dante was to defeating the forces of evil, his twin Vergil was consumed by power and the legacy of his satanic ancestors. One dark night, a tower suddenly appeared next to Dante's 'Devil May Cry' investigative agency. It was Vergil, with his inhuman cohorts in tow, looking after a confrontation with Dante.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition includes many new features. Gamers can play as Vergil, who has his own 'Dark Slayer' fighting style, but the main character in the game is Dante. The speed of the game is also boosted by 20%, using the new turbo option. Adjusted difficulty levels offer more balanced gameplay as gamers choose from five different options, including a new Very Hard Mode. There is also a survival mode, known as Bloody Palace Mode, where Dante must fight against various terrifying enemies.

In this version of the game there is fresh new character design, where Dante appears younger. There is a huge arsenal of weapons at Dante's disposal, including powerful shotguns, handguns and tricked out guitars. Dante can be equipped with up to four different weapons that can be changed at any time. This allows freedom to develop fighting moves and combinations.
