BZZZ! Throw away those horrible interactive quiz DVDs you received with something approaching gratitude last birthday/holiday season - to paraphrase The Beatles, 'Buzz is all you need'. Sony's be-quiffed and luridly be-suited host is back with a Q&A session for everyone, from the hardcore sports know-it-all to the likes of those whose sports knowledge begins and ends with John McEnroe's legendary tantrums of old. Buzz himself is as annoying as ever; thank heavens for the smooth and silky tones of the uncredited lady talking us through the game's rules and regulations.

Flying solo doesn't really work with a game like this. Friends and/or family are an essential ingredient to fully appreciate the intensity of the gameplay. Even with just two players going at it - The Sports Quiz can accommodate up to eight players - the sense of competition is near tangible. You might as well be on TV for real. With 10 individual rounds to play through, including Spin and World of Sport, Finish Line, Estimation and old Buzz favourites like Points Builder and Pass the Bomb, The Sports Quiz is sure to have you and yours pining for sudden death overtime. There are hundreds of images and film clips to examine as you aim to be first one to press one of those coloured buttons on the buzzer. The game also includes characters from older Buzz! Titles, all dressed in novelty sports attire: Pelvis is portrayed as a darts player, Disco Stevie as a basketball star, and Gina as a tennis player. Ding-dong!

Released in time for the holiday season 2006, Buzz! The Sports Quiz is ideally timed to hit the top of many folks' shopping lists. That said, this is a fun experience that'll provide maximum enjoyment well beyond any holidays. Start inviting people now!
