Summary

A Disney Channel favourite, American Dragon: Jake Long is a coming-of-age comedy/action series about a 13 year old Asian-American boy, who wants to find a balance in his life as a skateboarding, New York teen, while learning to master his mystical powers as the American Dragon, protector of all magical creatures secretly living amongst the human world. Jake’s life is both action-packed and hilarious as he juggles the many problems of being a teenager with his grandfather-guided training regime. There is also the small matter of the pursuit of his dream girl - whose alter-ego turns out to be his arch-enemy’s protégé.

In the game, Jake Long’s fiercest enemy, Dark Dragon, kidnaps Jake’s dream girl Rose. Therefore, it is up to you - as Jake - to rescue Rose. If that’s not enough, there’s an added dilemma for Jake, when Dark Dragon realises that the evil Huntsman (another of Jake’s foes) also has an interest in rescuing Rose. This ensures that young Mr. Long must battle his way past countless villains on his quest to save the lady in distress.

Players are able to transform Jake into the American Dragon when battling enemies, such as a larger-than-life Cyclops, giant medusa and ultimately the terrifying Dark Dragon. As the American Dragon, gamers can release dragon fire, whip out the tail swipe, perform jump attacks and take flight. You are also able to train with Jake’s grandfather between levels which will help increase certain attributes, like speed and firepower.

Also included in Disney’s Attack of the Dark Dragon is a mini-game where the notion is to set fire to as many objects as possible using the American Dragon’s ability to breathe fire.
