Summary

There's no denying it; Mega Man's had a long and winding road since he first graced the NES way back in 1987. Two decades and more games than you can count later, we've got Mega Man ZX launching the franchise into its sixth series since his first appearance.

The action takes place 200 years after the end of Mega Man Zero, and mankind and the Reploids are living peacefully. At least, they would be if the pesky Mavericks didn't keep stirring up trouble. Players take on the role of Vent (a chap) or Aile (chapette) who have both been orphaned by Maverick attacks. They do their bit for the economy by working for a fella named Giro, who deals in couriering, legal or not. One day, they're asked to transport a little sumthin': sumthin' called biometals...

Which is where you jump in. As a human, you're a bit less robust than the robot heroes of old. Fortunately, biometals allow you to take on properties of various robots.

If you've played the Mega Man X or Mega Man Zero series (the clue's in the title) you should feel right at home with Mega Man ZX. It's all side scrolling, gun-blazing action like the Mega Man of old.

That doesn't mean, however, that the gameplay's the same old same old. The different biometals grant abilities from air and water-dashing, to radar abilities, to bullets you can steer. Throw in the DS touch screen control system, and you've got yourself a twist on the classic formula that should keep long time fans guessing.
