Summary

There are five SF titles in this here Anthology, including direct conversions of Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold and Street Fighter Alpha 3: a collection of titles which have never been made available together in one package before summer 2006. As a bonus, the 'pint-sized' Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix (aka Pocket Fighter) is tossed into the mix.

The Street Fighter universe is well-known and admired almost as much as Zangief's shin merkins in beat-em-up circles, and Alpha - the series debut - assembles a cast of 13 characters. Super combos and alpha counters feature to add a new dimension to fighting. Street Fighter Alpha 2 ups the ante with 18 fighters and several new options including high and low Alpha counters as well as more moves and combos for each character. Alpha 2 also launches the Custom Combo system which allows players to use a meter to perform devastating multi-hit combos. Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold is an enhanced version of Alpha 2 featuring different versions of some of the characters. Street Fighter Alpha 3 is the most content-heavy of the Anthology, with 25 characters and the choice of three 'ism' fighting styles made popular in previous Street Fighter games: X-ism is the fighting style from Super Turbo which includes one Super Combo; A-ism is the standard Alpha style with multiple Super Combos; and V-ism is an advanced fighting style with custom combos. Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix completes the anthology with miniature versions of popular Capcom fighters in fierce battles. Fighters battle to collect power-up gems as they indulge in an array of special attacks and combos.

All titles in the Anthology feature three gameplay options. Arcade mode pits competitors against a series of computer-controlled opponents in order to beat the game; Versus mode lets two players choose a character for a one-on-one scrap; and lastly, fighters can practice special moves and combos to sharpen their moves in training mode. All the Alpha titles also feature Survival mode as well as a Battle mode, allowing for 2-on-1 tag team brawling.
