Summary

In wild parts all around the world, stories are told of a mysterious giant creature that is infrequently sighted. In the deep forests of the US, he is known as Bigfoot, in Canada as Sasquatch, and in the icy Himalayas he is called the Abominable Snowman… or the Yeti. Crypto-zoologists around the world debate fiercely about the existence and nature of this fascinating beast? Is he an animal, some missing link between humans and apes, a mere figment of the cold-addled imagination, or a man in a suit? Nobody knows, but in recent years the Yeti has courted further media speculation, as the star of a series of novelty games downloadable from the internet. Created and developed by Edelweiss, the most famous of these without a doubt was Pengu Toss, in which employees in offices around the globe competed for the furthest penguin throw. But as more games were developed, the natural thing to do was release all the games as a compilation for PC: Yeti Sports Deluxe. The selection even included new versions of Yeti Sports never made available on the web.

Now console owners are to get a look in too - and PC owners an update - as Yeti Sports: Arctic Adventure finally comes to home games systems. Featuring six different games, including the legendary Pengu Toss and Yeti Dance, the game includes levels where you must skilfully guide your flying albatross through caverns measureless to man, as vindictive polar bears try to knock you out the sky with a well-aimed snowball. Up to eight friends can compete in the simple but addictive madcap party games. The PC version gives you access to the worldwide leaderboard. Three different skill levels will make sure that you carry on until you have truly mastered your chosen field. That’s not all either, the game also includes a campaign mode for one or two players, following the titular arctic adventures of the canny fictitious monster himself. Crypto-zoologists and party game fanatics alike should welcome the arrival of this cult gem with loud roars of approval.
