Summary

You’ll probably have heard all about the told legends of the past – Jason and the Argonauts, the Trojan War, Gilgamesh and Enkidu, Beowulf and Ragnarok. What you won’t have heard about – and how could you – are the UNtold Legends. You won’t do, either, unless you’re lucky enough to have a PSP, in which case you’ll be able to know all there is to know about the Legends they don’t want you to know about; the story of the Brotherhood of the Blade.

There’s been a concerted effort to make sure that the PSP launch line-up covers all the genres known and loved by PS2 owners. You want sports games, there are sports games. Likewise fans of racing, fighting and skateboarding are catered for. Another genre well-loved by PS2 owners is the action RPG – exemplified by Sony Online Entertainment’s Champions of Norrath.

The PSP gets its very own game in this vein in the form of Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade. As so often happens, a peaceful civilisation, in this case the city of Aven, is threatened by the gathering of dark and mysterious threat. Everybody knows that nameless, burgeoning evil can only be stopped by a band of brave adventurers. So it is that you must set out with your chosen Brotherhood of the Blade to stop these dread forces. Choose your character from four distinct classes – Knight, Alchemist, Druid or Berserker, each with their own blend of combative and magical abilities. Design your own unique character and set out on your quest through the lavish 3D landscape, slashing left and right and the hordes of a massive 150 different monsters. Battle huge bosses, and collect a huge range of items and artefacts as you go. Customise your character’s appearance and abilities as you search for the key to the looming peril that threatens your home of Aven. It needn’t be a lonely experience either. Untold Legends allows up to four players to join in the slashing and searching using the PSP’s cutting edge wireless technology. Verily, if you wish to use your PSP for questing forth, this is the game you need.
