Combat Mission
Combat Mission takes place at a crucial point in World War 2, from Normandy 1944 to Germany 1945 on the Western Front. From the beginning, players will be immersed in the atmosphere of one of the world’s greatest conflicts.
Players can take control of both ally and enemy, including the US Airborne and German Volksstrum. The main game takes place over approximately 50 missions that involve everything from stealth attacks to all out brawls. Players can choose to fight however they choose - it’s the gamer's decision - although generally there is a distinct path to victory, which means if you’re stubborn in your way of combat, you might find yourself struggling with some of the game's later missions.
Combat Mission II
More of a prequel than a sequel, Combat Mission II takes place in the years leading up to Normandy 1944 and ventures into the heart of World War II gaming, the Eastern Front.
Some of the game's more crucial conflicts take place in well-known cities such as Moscow, Stalingrad and Berlin, and come complete with hi-res 3D graphics, dynamic sound effects, and a good level of detail and weather effects.
Regarding gameplay, missions are turn-based. Many people may initially be discouraged by such a term, but it is a standard element of play in these games and is completely justified. Combat Mission II focuses continually on strategy and planning. Playing against the clock rushes players, and everyone makes mistakes. The trick to a successful mission is to take your time, think ahead and develop sound contingency plans.
Combat Mission III
Afrika Korps is a 1-2 player, hybrid turn-based, real-time 3D simulation of WWII tactical warfare in parts of the Mediterranean Theatre including North Africa, Italy, Sicily and Crete from 1940 to 1945.
Experience combat in a fully 3D battlefield as machinegun tracers arc overhead, exploding artillery shells and shaking the earth! Watch the famous Deutsches Afrika Korps storm the fortress of Tobruk, or help the US and British forces defend against powerful German counterstrikes at Anzio. Fight with the elite German Fallschirmjäger units in Crete, or follow General Patton's sweep across the island of Sicily.
