Summary

With a seventh version slated for release on Gamecube later this year, the Mario Party franchise has proven to be one of the most prolific Nintendo IPs ever. So perhaps it’s surprising that, until now, there have been no versions of the game on there best selling system, the Game Boy Advance.

Not any more. Nintendo are releasing an adaptation for the GBA, called Mario Party Advance. Now fans of the series can play the game while they’re out and about. Mario Party is all about the mini-games and MPA doesn’t disappoint, with a whopping 60 mini-games to discover as you play through the single player game. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Mario Party game if you couldn’t play with your friends too, and, provided they have a cart aswell, you can. Via link-up you can enjoy two player simultaneous play, either fighting fiercely in a two player battle game or trading mini-games and coins.

Also featured are a load of ‘Gaddgets’ invented courtesy of the slightly loopy Professor E. Gadd. These include trinkets, toys and tricks you can play on your friends. You can also swap Gaddgets you have already collected with friends over link-up. Developed by Hudson Soft, Mario Party Advance makes a welcome addition to the ever-expanding GBA library.
