Summary

The latest addition to the long running series ensures that all fans are up to date with all things Battlecruiser in the form of this Gold Edition, which is essentially the full version of November 2001's Battlecruiser Millennium plus all subsequently released updates, features and additional scenes.

For those of you who don't already know, Battlecruiser's concept follows that of the typical massive, space-based exploration/trading/combat simulation type game. And it does it on a truly epic scale. The game basically revolves around the exploration of an entire interactive universe, complete with over 200 planets and nearly 50 different spacecraft. Players are given complete freedom to choose their preferred path in the fact that, should you wish, you could focus on the battle side of things by choosing a military career, or, alternatively, take a more pacifist approach and concentrate on establishing yourself as a trader. Either way, the game is massive, free roaming and you're basically given the opportunity to do whatever the heck you like.

As far as updates and new features are concerned, this latest release ups the ante even further, offering such additions as 50 new planetary zones and scenes, 10 additional starstations and starbases, a new single player ACM scenario with 15 missions, 20 new single player Instant Action scenarios, multiplayer support, and mouse control. Phew!

Now if that's not enough for you then the next best thing would probably be to start saving up for your own spaceship. But you're certainly not going to find one for under twenty quid.
