Summary

One month on from the haunting of Hallowe'en and it seems that Wanadoo is determined not to let us forget by releasing this creepy adventure, inspired by the famous annual tradition. Castleween plunges players into an eerie and terrifying world of haunted houses, creepy cemeteries, dusty laboratories and forgotten cellars.

A combination of classic horror and modern fairy tale, the story begins on Hallowe'en night with a group of children searching for sweets in a deserted, run-down house. All of a sudden, most of the kids are turned into statues, leaving protagonists Alicia and Greg fleeing in horror. As they find themselves at the entrance to the World of the Dead, with nowhere else to run, they realise that they must enter and search for their friends' souls in order to save them.

And so players assume control of either of the two children to begin with and enter into the 3D-platform world, littered with puzzles. Along the way, a variety of ghoulish foes, such as skeletons, vampires, witches and devils, stand in the way and must be avoided or fought.

The two characters each have their own unique strengths and abilities, which must be relied upon in order to survive. For example, Greg can fight with his devil fork, whilst Alicia has the power to freeze her enemies, as well as water and lava. Both characters are vital at certain points in the game and can be switched after a time.

Castleween combines all the memorable aspects of Hallowe'en and wraps them up in a fantastical 3D world, delivering an involving adventure for all ages that is tinged with horror.
