Summary

It's a great idea when you think about it. Instead of basing a wrestling game around a particular license, like WWE, NWO, or WCW, why not simply take all the greatest wrestlers from all the federations and put them into one great wrestle-em-up? Well that's what Acclaim has done here with Legends of Wrestling II, bringing us all our favourite stars in one comprehensive title.

To be precise, there are a total of 10 wrestlers to either take control of or go up against, including the likes of Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Bret 'Hitman' Hart. Each character has their own signature moves, which remain faithful to their real-life counterparts, as well as a range of taunts, which are ideal for angering your opponents.

A new Career Mode makes up the majority of the single player experience, giving players the opportunity to select their wrestler of choice before embarking on, you guessed it, a career. As is always the case with this mode, the idea is to take your character to the top by basically winning as much as possible. Hardly rocket science, but not quite as boring either.

A host of other modes are also available, including 3 and 4 Way Dances, Singles, Tag Teams, and Tournament, so there's plenty of life in the game, even for the most hardcore gamer. Unfortunately, a lack in multiplayer support means there's no linking-up and battling your mates, but aside from that, this is one of the top wrestling games to come out on GBA.
