Summary

Those not quite ready for the ultimate Chessmaster challenge from Ubi Soft can sink their budding chess teeth into a game of Dexter's Lab: Chess Challenge on Game Boy Advance. Best of all, you won't misplace any of those easy-to-lose chess pieces!

A chess game for the light-hearted, Chess Challenge takes the humour and brilliance of the popular cartoon into the ancient world of the battle board and turns it into a whole new experience. Playing as Dexter, Dee Dee, Mandark or Major Glory, you can match your wits against numerous opponents to determine who is the true genius! Winning moves are rewarded with comical animations in the style of the cartoon series, and even the pieces on the board are of famous Dexter's Lab characters.

The standard rules remain the same, but add a link cable to the equation and you can play against your favourite characters or with friends in multi-player mode. Quick play, tournament and puzzle modes ensure there's plenty of scope and variety for both pros and newbie chess champions.

There aren't a great deal of chess games on the market, let alone for Game Boy Advance, and there's even fewer that are aimed towards a younger audience. Chess Challenge is a refreshing newcomer to the ever-serious chess genre and will hopefully brighten up future chess games.
