Summary

Disney’s Monsters Inc. was unleashed on an eager audience of young cinema-goers over a year ago at the time of this game's release, but Mike and Sully continue to live on in video games thanks to THQ and developer Radical, with the release of Scream Arena for GameCube.

Now that the monsters of Monstropolis have learned the power of laughter, they’re ready to have some fun. In the game, players compete as one of their beloved monsters in a unique 'dodge ball-style' match set in movie-inspired stadium arenas filled with children ready to be entertained. With the use of special 'laugh balls', each with their own slapstick shtick, players compete in a tournament to fill their laugh canisters first with children’s laughter.

Sounds like something out of Crackerjack or Funhouse, doesn’t it?

Well to be honest it’s not that different, but it is just as much fun. In this particular outing you’ll be able to assume the role of Mike, Sully and Randall amongst others as you play what is effectively a game of hockey where you hit people instead of shooting at a goal. Don’t worry, it’s not as brutal as it sounds, and the kids will love it.

Game modes include Knockout, Countdown and Hot Potato, and all cater for up to four-players. There are also hidden bonuses and characters available for those who perform well.

Scream Arena is undoubtedly a fully-fledged multi-player game and is definitely worth a look.
