Summary

One blast from destruction, Voyager is mysteriously transported to into a null space infested with danger. As part of Voyager’s elite Hazard team, you must defend it from a host of scavenging aliens, then infiltrate a Borg cube and derelict vessels to eradicate your foe.

After receiving an urgent distress call, Voyager has fallen into a trap, under attack from a sphere of unknown energy. An evil, malevolent intelligence is controlling this area of space. A powerful gravitational dampening field has rendered voyager powerless. The Hazard team is the only chance voyager has.

The LCARS menu (Library Computer Access System) is from the series and films and gives a professional interface that looks like it’s from the future. Using voices from the original cast, it helps create an immersive environment. Elite Forces is your chance to be a part of the TV show, albeit an action packed adventure where you decide the destiny of the crew.

Voyager Elite Force runs on a modified Quake 3 engine. Using new graphical features such as compressed textures and Anisotropic filtering, this title looks amazing. Being inside a Borg cube is terrifying, especially when they adapt to your weapons and you are cornered.

With 40 intense single player missions, and 16 multi-player arenas, this is one game you won’t be putting down in a hurry. With an incredible on-line experience to complement the gameplay, Elite Force has to be recommended. Remember, if Voyager is destroyed, humanity won’t be far behind.

Trekkies can now revisit the infamous Delta Quadrant and resume control of the Hazard Team, formed to cope with the dangers of the sector.

New for this expansion, players will now be able to wander through a virtual 3D recreation of the interior of the ship in the Tour Mode. Locations include the holodecks and the shuttlebay. The Elite Force mission disk also incorporates a number of unique challenges, including a so-called ‘holo-novel’ and an assault on a Klingon compound.

Perhaps most importantly, there are improved playing aspects to the games multi-player options. Players can now tackle some of the 17 available multi-player maps within two brand new game modes. In assimilation mode, for example, players must challenge the ultimate enemy - The Borg - in a mission to prevent destruction.
