Summary

It’s Wintertime, and what better way to enjoy the snow than by ripping through the freshly packed piste at over 40 mph, going head over heels during a misty flip? ESPN Winter X-games Snowboarding 2002 lets you carve up the mountains as you attempt to impress the judges.

There are three game modes to choose from in this snowboarding experience: Superpipe, Snowboarder X, and Big Air.

Superpipe is a half-pipe event where your points total is accumulated as you try to land as many combos before you hit the bottom of the pipe. Using a wide variety of tricks is the most effective way to rack up big points as the judges look down on riders performing repetitive stunts.

Snowboarder X is the racing mode of the game. It’s a one event run to the bottom where obviously the rider that completes the run in the fastest time wins. Competitors must navigate through a series of slalom flags or face the consequences of a time penalty.

The Big Air event is exactly that and the best in the game. Basically, there are three gigantic jumps one after the other. Performing the sickest tricks and landing them cleanly is the way to win this event.

ESPN Winter X-games Snowboarding 2002 is a fun, but ultimately limited game for the Advance. At time of release there aren’t too many other snowboarding games available for the Advance. So if you’re into this type of game, check it out, you just might like it.
