Summary

Blizzard’s popular Diablo series of role-playing games has been extremely popular among PC owners. For those who missed out on the legendary series, Vivendi and Blizzard have put together an amazing compilation, titled Diablo 2: Battlechest.

The highly desirable package consists of the original game and its sequel, the Diablo 2 expansion pack, and a handy little Brady Games strategy guide to help you get through the hard bits.

The Diablo series introduces the player to a set of characters that are completely unique, each with their own attributes and statistics. Some characters are strength-based, others are magic-based. As with any standard RPG, your character will level up as you progress. The difference here is that when you do you level up, you get to decide what status attributes are affected, whereby you are given a specific number of points, and you can allocate them to the attribute of your choice. This small difference allows you to tailor your character to your own specifications. This is a bonus, as when playing in multi-player, other players with the same characters and levels will not necessarily be the same. This results in a less predictable playing experience and outcome.

Battles take place in stunningly detailed environments that you can roam freely. Once you encounter an enemy, it’s up you what kind of attack you use. But there is a general rule. In most situations, strong magical attributes equate to weak physical attacks, and vice versa.

Diablo 2: Battlechest boasts very healthy longevity that will see you staring at your monitor for months, if not years.
