Summary

MechWarrior 4 saw a welcome return to the classic Microsoft strategy game. So much so, in fact, that a great expansion pack has been produced. Black Knight makes the MechWarrior series even more intense in what has to be the greatest MechWarrior title yet.

Provided you have a reasonable graphics card to demonstrate the game’s performance capabilities, you will be pleased, to say the least, with what Microsoft has accomplished. There is a new selection of environments that are bigger and better than before, as well as a new selection of Mechs. Players can even control the Black Knight Mech in all new scenario, complete with plot twists and turns.

MechWarrior 4’s training option comes recommended for learning the Mech’s controls, since some of the missions you will be attempting are very precise. Once ready to proceed you can begin a full-on campaign that may take a good chunk out of your social life, or for a quick blast, select one of the instant action missions. Some missions are very action-focused, while others quite the opposite. A good balance of weapons and targeting equipment is present to accommodate the needs of every challenge within the game.

Taking control of a 40-foot tall machine that moves at 90 miles per hour is a lot of fun, and using these beasts to make your way through a plethora of challenging levels makes it all the more satisfying.

This expansion pack has been highly-anticipated by fans of the genre for some time, and now we've played it, we can see why. MechWarrior 5 can wait. Gamers are going to have a lot of fun with this expansion pack
