Summary

The Addams Family live on in a new game for Game Boy Color, but not all is not well at their dark and doomy home. They are to be evicted by a group of real-estate agents bent on turning their property into an amusement park. Unless the family can come up with the ownership documents before eviction day, they’ll have to settle elsewhere!

Microids’ New Addams Family is a mixture of several genres, including puzzle, role-playing and action elements of play. You must wander the beautifully rendered environments, collect items, interact with other members of the family and solve numerous riddles. You can meet many famous faces, including Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester and Lurch. And to intensify the experience, there are sections of the game where the player must think quickly as the action sometimes gets chaotic. But not to worry, with Pugsley and Wednesday under your control, you’ll be fine.

Gameplay aside though, the most notable aspect of The New Addams Family are the hi-tech graphics that accompany it. Thanks to the all-new high-colour mode, the little console is now able to simultaneously display over 2,000 colours. And the game benefits greatly from the technology.

Okay, it’s not the most original title ever created, but the kids are gonna love it. And any other ardent Addams fans for that matter. Da-da-da-da, click click!
