Being a football manager is a tough job. Team motivation, training, squad selection – these are just a few of the things have a direct effect on the result of the match. Football Director, the new soccer management game from Empire Interactive, gives you the chance to take charge of any club within the English league, as well as offering you a wide and varied choice of foreign clubs. It’s not only the team that you have to worry about though.
As the title suggests, Football Director challenges you to turn your hand at running a business as well as running a club. Sponsorship packages, stadium refurbishment’s, balance sheets – all these things and more need to be addressed as well as making sure your team performs on the pitch.
Unlike other management sims, Football Director takes the stats and deeply intricate management scenarios and marries them to a user interface and match action section that is second to none. Match action is portrayed “on-the-fly”, meaning that whatever tactics you choose for your team are replicated graphically. No more watching short segments of pre-rendered action, this is “real time” football management that takes the action into a different league!
