Summary

Experience the pure adrenaline rush of professional boxing without risking your health. New Corporation are proud to introduce Victorious Boxer for the PlayStation 2 console. Taking more of a simulation approach to boxing, you can take your character from a chump to a champ.

Victorious Boxer successfully combines addictive gameplay and lush graphics. You assume the identity of Ippo, an unknown, fresh from the streets. In this game, you start at the bottom and must work your way through the ranks. You meet an old trainer who is eager to help develop your skills. With practice and skill, you can progress through the professional league and earn a shot at the belt.

Victorious Boxer is different to other boxing games in a few key areas. Most importantly, you must learn new moves to progress. You can’t just stick to one style and expect to keep winning. Varying your tactics will keep your opponents guessing. Your coach will offer useful advice before fights, and heeding his words will give you an edge. Some opponents need tiring out, others don’t like body work and sometimes you should just go for the knockout.

It’s the little touches that add to the overall quality of the game. Cuts and bruises appear where you’re taking or landing punches. Likewise, you can see if your opponent is developing a weak area and then concentrate on this area and go for the victory.
