Summary

Just imagine Command and Conquer in 3D, set in Medieval times... that’s what Warrior Kings is all about. It’s a 3D real-time strategy game from Microids and it’s a very promising title.

Now, although graphics are not the most significant aspect by a long shot, we have to say that Warrior Kings looks absolutely stunning, even for a PC title. Everything about the game is polished, we simply can’t fault the game from a visual angle.

From a technical standpoint and regarding gameplay, Warrior Kings will appeal to the RTS faithful. The game does contain many complexities that accommodate for the hundreds of variables in battle, but it also incorporates a style of progression that’s invaluable to its players. Rather then throwing you in at the deep end, Warrior Kings’ missions increase in complexity as you become more experienced. Sure there are many games that attempt to do this, but none quite so well as Microids interpretation of the learning curve.

There are dozens of missions to tackle that involve the player in a highly strategic game of power and wits. There’s lots to consider, but the more you become accustomed to how the game works, the more careful your actions will be in game, and the better result you will get.

Warrior Kings is an extremely well crafted title, and it is clear that the developers have put considerable thought into the production of this game. Ultimately, the result is a comprehensive, intense and thrilling RTS experience.
