Summary

Virgin Interactive have bundled two of their coolest games into one pack, Earthworm Jim 3D and Renegade Racers. Although the games are unrelated, both offer great gameplay and hours of fun in completely different ways. Earthworm Jim 3D is a platform-adventure title and Renegade Racers is a crazy, all-terrain, erm, racer!

Earthworm Jim 3D is Jim’s first adventure in the third dimension. Goodbye sprites, hello polygons! Our hero has gone a little mad, madder than before at least. An unfortunate incident with a falling cow has left Jim trapped inside his own insane brain. Each of the five environments is based on Jim’s darkest fears and fantasies. Jim 3D is sorta like Mario 64, but with more comedy moments and weirdness. The gameplay is non-linear, leaving you to decide the best route through the game. Luckily, Jim has a completely new assortment of weapons to fend off the baddies with, including the (wait for it) Super-Kitsch Funky Gun. Overall, addictive and funny.

In Renegade Racers, Buck Billionaire has decided to hold a racing competition for all the renegades out there with something to prove. He has whittled the list of entrants down to 12, and each racer is the best at what they do. Dexter from Oxford University believes his brainpower will prevail, Major General is the Army’s toughest nut and a mysterious banker has bought the fastest ship. The characteristics of the contestants determine the capabilities of the ships and the tactics that suit them. The Renegade Champion is the racer with the most points after six taxing events.
