Summary

Nickelodeon's bizarre array of cartoon adventures continue to make the transition from TV to console, and this time it’s the turn of The Wild Thornberrys on Game Boy Advance.

Darwin has been kidnapped by Kip and Biederman, and is to be put on display as part of a new zoo. Eliza, along with the rest of the family, must track down the duo, reclaim Darwin, and prevent the kidnappers from capturing any more animals for their illegal zoo.

Players of The Wild Thornberrys will be required to take control of many family members, including Debbie and Donnie.

Options aside, The Wild Thornberrys is purely a platform game in which you must perform the usual run/jump/dodge antics. It’s simple, but it’s all great fun.

The game world is spread over four different environments that cover four continents – South America, Australia, Africa and the Arctic Circle.

There is a little bit of light-hearted role-playing that entails players interacting with NPCs such as lions, monkeys and giraffes. But this element is there specifically to drive the story forwards. Nevertheless, it’s a welcome attribute that was often missing from older platform games.

So, play to your hearts content. It may not be Sonic or Mario, but the Wild Thornberrys provide lots of fun.
