Summary

Hot Wheels, for many years known to kids as 'matchbox'-size toy cars, have very quickly established themselves in video games, thanks to the foresight and hard work of THQ. And there’s no end in sight, as THQ releases Hot Wheels: Burnin' Rubber for Game Boy Advance.

Now, to the traditional Hot Wheels fan, racing is only part of the fun. Apparently, there’s just as much fun to be had collecting the little toys for plenty of variety. Burnin' Rubber on Game Boy Advance allows its players take control of more than 25 Hot Wheels cars.

And that’s great, but this is still a video game after all. You will be able to race on any of a selection of 20 tracks, each with their own theme, all including many trademark loops, banks and jumps. If you’re looking for a little longevity within the fictional racing league, Burnin' Rubber has been designed so progress is made through winning races, like most other racing titles. The more success you have, the more cars you can race with, including some hidden ‘treasure hunt’ creations. Furthermore, players can upgrade their vehicles and make much needed modifications to successfully race through the next stage of the game.

Burnin' Rubber is a great looking title, featuring a variety of familiar touches and Mario Kart-esque environments. There’s plenty of colour, and the game is fluid.

All in all, Burnin' Rubber is a polished title, and one that will go down a storm with hardcore Hot Wheels enthusiasts.
