Summary

A portable version of Quack Attack, Disney’s Donald Duck Advance features many multi-layered levels, requiring Donald to travel the world in order to recover energy spheres and rescue his girlfriend, Daisy. She’s a reporter you see, and she was in the middle of a television broadcast from an evil magician’s (Merlock) temple, when there was a sudden break in transmission. Daisy hasn’t been heard from since. Yup, she’s been kidnapped, and it’s up to Donald to go to her rescue.

Palm-sized Donald is an agile fellow (is it right to call a duck ‘fella’?). He’s able to walk, run, climb and crouch his way through four worlds with no little style and swagger. The game also has a Time Attack mode, so you can see just how quickly you can get through completed levels.

With 3D graphics that mimic Disney’s Donald Duck cartoons, players take Donald through The Forest, The City, Haunted House and Inca worlds and 24 levels. Donald begins each level expecting everything to go his way, but of course, things do not go as planned. The gameplay featured in Quack Attack allows Donald Duck’s personality to come alive on the small screen. You know how temperamental he can be. His moods vary throughout: keep him hanging around too long at one particular location or obstacle and, well, Donald won’t exactly turn on you, but he’ll become agitated and frustrated enough to let you know that you need to get your act together.

The new, improved, ultra-manoeuvrable Donald is a good old fashioned scrolling platformer, a genre you can always rely on to provide solid entertainment. With Donald Duck Advance, you also get a universally liked character to provide the laugh factor. DDA is well worth your time and attention.
