Summary

The place: Detroit, the time: the not so distant future, and crime has completely overrun the city. The police are practically powerless fighting against heavily armed and dangerous street gangs. Many human lives have been lost trying to bring peace to the streets. Enter Robocop, the cybernetic crime fighter.

The evil corporation OCP, who ultimately are responsible for Robocop, have devised an incredibly powerful cyber-brain. Codenamed M.I.N.D. (Massively Intelligent Neutral Device) this combination of brain tissue and CPU technology has become self-aware. It is out of control and it has formed alliances with the street gangs. It must be stopped at all costs.

The gameplay is stretched out across eight gigantic levels that include indoor and outdoor locations. The action is balanced between arresting the bad guys and solving several taxing mental problems. Like a real crime fighter, you must distinguish between good and bad and not break any of Robocop’s primary directives: uphold the law, protect the innocent, and defend the public trust.

There are seven weapons available to Robocop throughout the game, and each weapon can be upgraded three times. Even though you have an impressive arsenal of upgradeable weapons available, you’ll have to be skilful and use cunning tactics if you want to defeat M.I.N.D.

Robocop offers a good balance of graphics and challenging gameplay, and successively carries on the Robocop universe. Portable shooting fun, this game is the one.
