Summary
An innovative, real-time strategy game, The Nations offers players three mission –based campaigns, an open-ended game and multiplayer options for LAN and Internet for up to 8 players.
Whichever tribe the player chooses to rule, they will be faced with the challenge of building a happy community by attending to the collection of raw materials, construction of buildings, provision of food, diplomacy, trade, keeping the favour of the gods, law and order and even the production of soap! To secure the tribe’s progress, the player has to manage its settlement by keeping the tribe occupied, well supplied and happy so that they produce more offspring. When the player’s tribe is happy and satisfied, members of other tribes will join and the tribe will prosper. Otherwise, the tribe’s birth rate will decline and the tribespeople might defect to other tribes, diluting the player’s influence.
Characters in The Nations are each individuals with their own needs and habits; stunning artwork and smooth, detailed animation allows their personalities to shine through as they each go about their daily business on Lukkat and a zoom feature lets players get in close. A day and night cycle adds a strategic component to the game as Lukkat’s inhabitants follow their routine according to the time of day.
