Summary

There are many people that would say the world’s economy is a subject that needs to be taken seriously. However, there are others that would disagree, including game developer and publisher, Monte Cristo. Taking on board a light-hearted approach, Monte Cristo has produced Economic War for PC. The battle of the politicians has begun, and you are the Head of State, can you handle it, or do you need to play dirty?

After successfully building an embassy, your challenge is to use whatever means necessary to maintain your popularity and retain your position as a diplomatic leader. Initially, three diplomats will be automatically dispatched in your aid to earn the false respect of your people as a leader. The role of the diplomat can be diverse, but it will always be dirty. You can send spies on missions that include thieving technology from competitors, exploiting scandals and corrupting other ministers. As a global title, players have the opportunity to take charge of any of 23 major super powers, including Canada, France, Germany and, of course, the United Kingdom. You should abuse your country’s natural resources to build and develop your land and negotiate profitable deals with other countries. If all goes pear-shaped, you can always bomb people and pass the blame onto someone else. It’s not the most politically correct solution, but it certainly is a lot of fun, and that’s what Economic War is all about.

Dirty tactics are the name of the game, but don’t get caught, or you’ll find yourself on the receiving end of a political scandal. You have been warned.
