Summary

The highly anticipated futuristic racing game Extreme G3 is now available on the PlayStation 2. Continuing the series with true 128-bit graphics, Extreme G3 lets you race at speeds up to and beyond the speed of sound. Blink and you’ll miss it.

Because you race at such extreme speeds with 11 other racers on track simultaneously, this is one exhilarating gaming experience. The track designs are similar to Wipeout and F-Zero, as they twist and loop through beautifully rendered environments. Some courses are set in cities and others take you high into the stratosphere.

Racing is only half the fun of Extreme G3. To increase your chance of winning, your bike comes equipped the latest energy weapons. Taking out the lead racer on the last corner is a satisfying move to make. Your bike is also of capable of performing a turbo boost and it is advised that you use this extra speed boost with caution. At high speed, extremely smooth control is required.

A great looking game is nothing without an excellent control method to compliment it. Extreme G3 makes good use of the dual shock controller and gameplay is responsive and smooth. The animation of the bike also reflects your driving style with moving air-flaps, thrusters and weapons.

If you have raced the two previous Extreme G games on the Nintendo 64, you will know how good these games are. Now add new tracks and PS2 graphics and you have a futuristic winner.
