Ultimate Surfing adopts all of the rules and regulations of the Association of Surfing Professionals. This means that the game follows the same tournament structure as the real life competitions. You take part in a series of four-person, time specific heats. You start with a two-minute qualifying round, and if you are good enough, you make it through to the five minute semi-finals.
Ultimate Surfing is a fun little game to play. There aren’t many surfing games on the Game Boy and this is one of the better ones. To be a true winner, you have to perfect balancing the fine line pulling of technical tricks and not bailing.
With international surfing hotspots like Hawaii and Japan faithfully represented, and changing wave height, direction and speed, Ultimate Surfing a definitely worth a play or two.
