When the first Zelda game was released in the 80’s, the RPG phenomenon bestrode the globe. Following a number of acclaimed sequels, Zelda: Oracle of Seasons is here, released as part of an epic two-game adventure.

Like all of Zelda’s 2-dimensional predecessors, Oracle of Seasons is played in a top-down perspective, and often follows a grid-like system. Again, this Zelda game has two unique playing environments.

The field area plays host to the main role-playing element of the game. Here, you must learn to interact with many non-playable characters and obtain clues from a number of hidden sources to reach new areas of the game.

The secondary areas of the game, the Dungeons, are aimed more towards puzzle, maze and platform elements of play. Found within the field area of the game, each Dungeon entails the player navigating through a series of hazardous rooms in which a puzzle must be solved to progress. Once you reach your goal within the Dungeon you must then face and defeat an end-of-level boss.

There are also a variety of useful collectibles in Oracle of Seasons that will help you to progress further into the game, including the legendary Hookshot. These items and power-ups help to give Oracle of Seasons lots of variety.

The most intriguing part of Oracle of Seasons is its ability to connect with its counterpart Zelda game, Oracle of Ages. Once Oracle of Seasons is complete, you will then be given several items that can be used in Oracle of Ages via a link cable. This dual feature helps to give these games plenty of longevity and makes them even more challenging.

Ultimately, Oracle of Seasons is an entirely new game that retains all the original elements that made its predecessors classic games.
