The BBCs multimedia division didnt originally have any real impact on the video games market due to the mature nature of the industry. But with the recent success of Bob the Builder, now to be released on Nintendos GameBoy Color, this quirky little number looks set to make an appearance on a childs wish list, particularly in the run up to Christmas.
For the ease of a young audience, Bob the Builder consists of an incredibly cheap but appropriate story line. In a nutshell, Bob and Wendy are planning a picnic, but before they can go anywhere they must finish the jobs they set out to do. As a builder, it will come as no surprise that most of your tasks revolve around a building site. In the main area of the game, you must approach your friends, many of which will have tasks for you to carry out. Each task is essentially a small mini game. There are ten games in all, with each one incorporating playing elements from other game genres, such as puzzle and platform games.
While this may not a be number one chart-topping blockbuster smash hit, its a game for kids, and one that they will certainly enjoy; especially those with GameBoys. Parents, take note this ones on Santa.
