Joanna Dark is back, this time she’s angry and this she’s on the GameBoy Color. Rare have a reputation for developing quality games and this time they have out done themselves. This is not a strict conversion of the N64 title, the GameBoy version is a prequel to the events in the Perfect Dark story.

Perfect Dark is a fine balance between stealth and action. It’s up to you which path you choose, your success will depend on how well you can interpret the best course of action. Perfect Dark looks and plays great. Joanna responds quickly to your inputs and controlling her is a joy. The story is well written and engrossing. There is even digitised speech in Perfect Dark, not just words but whole sentences.

This is a massive game that is sure to keep you entertained for many an extended playing session. There are seven huge single player missions and an even more impressive 25 multi-player maps to be unlocked. This is one GameBoy game that loves to be connected, the two-player options make this game a classic. You can choose straightforward deathmatches or opt for a challenging capture the flag game.

In Perfect Dark there are also 12 mini games, a battery back-up and a built-in rumble pack. You can even print out character profiles using the GameBoy’s Printer accessory. Rare have done their best to bring you a great GameBoy title and they have succeeded.
