Originally popular on the 2-dimensional platforms of the eighties and early nineties, puzzle games have slowly made their way onto 3D platforms. The extra dimension was intended to allow developers to innovate and create new puzzle concepts. While to a certain degree this is what happened, it wasnt long before originality ran dry. Today, the third dimension is used to improve the visual quality of an existing title, giving an old game a new cover. Charlie Blasts Territory is a prime example of this.
Charlie Blasts Territory is puzzle game that involves a little guy, namely Charlie Blast, pushing around and jumping over objects to ultimately light the bomb that will blast him to the next level. While this is not an original concept, it can be a lot of fun to play. In single player, there are a whopping 60 puzzle boards that get progressively harder, and as a consequence will become increasingly frustrating.
Also, there is a multi-player option, whereby you can take part in a four-player frenzy in any one of 45 different player boards. There is some great 3D animation presented in CBT, and this is shown quite well when moving around and interacting with objects. So, overall Charlie Blasts Territory is not an original title in the slightest, but still a lot of fun to play nevertheless.
