Summary

Get your cue, focus your mind and get ready for Cueclub for the PC. The ultimate snooker and pool experience is available for your own home. Pool is an amazing game and Cueclub is one of the first games to really do it justice. It’s simple to get into but nearly impossible to master. Fun and serious, with plenty of variety to the gameplay.

The graphics on Cueclub are gorgeous. The way the balls reflect the environment and how smooth everything looks, is definitely one of it’s selling points. Equally, the physics are well modelled and as a result the game just feels right. There is a mode where it’s possible to throw the balls around the table, which is fun, but also gives an idea of how well this game works. Add some decent competition, either human or computer controlled and you’re on to a winner.

The control method is intuitive and customisable. You click on a picture of a ball to set spin and then on a power gauge to set the strength of the shot. Then consider your positioning, line up your shot and you’re away. Cueclub has loads of tuition to teach you how to play the game and understand the dynamics of pool. With practice you’ll be clearing up off the break. If you manage to get a good speed time or play an amazing shot, you can even upload it to the Internet for posterity.
