Summary

Not trying to put too fine a point on this, but if there is one game you simply must own for the Gameboy Color it’s Zelda DX Link's Awakening. The Legend of Zelda games have been around since 1985 when the Nintendo Entertainment System was the platform of choice for many gamers. Some would say that Zelda created the action / adventure genre. Although there are role playing elements, Zelda was about exploration, combat and saving the land from evil. Take a well thought out plot, combine it with an interactive narrative that has excellent characters, and you have a graphical interpretation of a potential Hollywood blockbuster. Oh, and don’t forget to save the princess.

Zelda DX is a colour update of the original Zelda for the Gameboy. The addition of colour really makes a big difference and consequently makes Zelda shine. Zelda DX is aesthetically pleasing and is not too bad on the musical side. One of the main additions in this update are new dungeons and puzzles that can only be solved using colour codes. With a massive game-world, plenty of tricks and traps and a noble cause, Zelda DX will enthrall you for ages. It's a work of art.
