Summary

Maxis' Sim City has a solid reputation for being the most popular management series for the PC platform. Each game has surpassed its predecessors brilliantly, and with every outing the game becomes more stunning and realistic than ever. The same applies to Sim City 3000.

At heart, 3000 is simply a refined version of its predecessor. However, there is a greater level of detail in place when it comes to creating and managing your budding town. Where Sim City 200 had players devising transport infrastructures and water systems, Sim City 3000 takes gamers deeper by including larger cities, more natural disasters and even waste disposal systems.

Sim City 3000 also makes a significant graphical leap, boasting higher resolution visuals, much more detail and enhanced zooming. It really is the greatest game in the series so far.

The rest of the game remains pretty much the same as any other offering. You have the basic building blocks of a city, which comprise of residential, commercial and industrial zones. And it's where you position each of these zones within your city that will affect the outcome of the your financial situation. Could you be a good mayor?

Sim City 3000 is a title aimed directly at fans of the franchise, but if you haven’t had the pleasure of playing a Sim game, then this should be the game of choice.
